Vintage 70s La Pavoni Europiccola Espresso Coffee Lever Machine + Steaming Cup

For those of you who like to do things right, it's hard to beat a lever pull espresso machine. Commercial machines have only recently starting using adjustable pours like you can achieve with a lever pull machine.

You can pre-soak the shot, pull a fast shot, slow shot, feel whether or not your grinds are too fine or coarse, and judge your crema as it flows from the filter. This machine has been slightly upgraded with a bottomless filter holder. The original two-spout style gets in the way of you being able to see what you're doing. If your goal is to pour a single shot well, this makes the process slightly easier. And for the true coffee snobs out there (myself included) the open bottom to the filter holder messes with the coffee less before it hits your cup.

The overall condition of this is great but it has been used. The base where coffee falls, under the grate, is stained from years of use. The paint/enamel has some chips and small skuffs that can be seen in the photos. This is not surprising for a machine from the 70's. Mechanically, the machine works perfectly. The heating element works perfectly. The steam valve seals perfectly. The pressure gauge is accurate. All is operational and ready for use. I would keep this forever if I wasn't moving onto a sailboat. I know you'll love this machine. There is no way not to.
