This is a 3 group machine and is in absolute perfect working order. However this machine has not undergone my usual refurbishment routine. The reason for this is that there is just no need. It has been fantastically well looked after and has had very light use in my workshop as a demo machine and a machine to train customers on how to perform basic coffee making skills.

It has been routinely serviced, infact for the use it has had it has probably been over-serviced. And it has always been kept on a high end Brita Quell ST water filter which I will also include with the sale of the machine if wanted? The machine has been thoroughly checked over and I really did give it some deep consideration wether to strip it down and rebuild it or not. I decided that I wouldn't really be gaining much from doing so and instead opted to give the machine a final thorough service prior to offering it for sale. Because I work in the trade I have checked every part of the machine which is important to its longevity and performace.

All perishable service parts have been changed and the machine calibrated to make sure it is performing at its optimum. The group heads have been overhauled this week and fitted with all brand new seals, gaskets, O rings, filters and shower screens. The steam wands have also been removed, stripped and cleaned and fitted with brand new rubber pad seals. The element an rotary pump have been removed and checked over and everything is in top working order.

So what we have in essence is a perfectly original, top spec working espresso machine which is ready to be installed and start doing some serious work. These Rancilio machines are built really solid and are well known for there reliabilty build quality. The machine works quietly, there are no loud nasty rattles from the pump or hisses and leaks. It really is in great nick.

The two pressure gauges are working perfectly and accurately and all the touchpads react to the slightest touch form the user. The only slight thing which might let the machine down a tiny bit is that on the first group head (left hand side) the stickers on 2 of the button selections are faded as shown in picture 8, however it is not hard to distinguish what these selection keys re as they are very clearly visible on the other two touch pads. This is another reason why I didnt really want to go to town and start machine polishing the panels because I didnt want to lose all the stickers and markings showing what button did what.

If you look at the pictures you can see how clear all the rest of the buttons and their markings are, so it really isnt an issue, but I do like to be fair and honest with all my desciptions. The machine has a digital display which shows the time and date etc, but what it also does is acts as a shot timer. So every time you run a shot it will time it and display it for you. This helps you keep track on your extractions making sure you are hitting that ideal 25-30 second range allowing you to monitor the consistancy of your espresso shots and alter your grinder accordingly.

A great feature with this machine is that the group heads are raised up high to allow for tall takeaway cups to fit easily underneith. Takeaway coffee has now become so popular and is something that you really should be considering offering as it can be such a high proportion of a coffee shops daily sales. The machine has been built with this in mind to allow the barista to directly extract the espresso into the tall takeaway cup. It is also very handy if you are serving lattes in tall latte glasses! If you are using smaller cups or normal cups then each group head has a shelf that swings out and allows your cup to sit closer to the group head.

This allows your espresso a shorter drop into the cup so that the crema on your drinks are not disturbed and makes for a much asthetically pleasing coffee. If not needed then the shelves disscreetly slide away into the body of the machine ready to be pulled out when needed. The steam wands on the machine are also really cool. They use a lever system which is much better and easier to use than the twisty knobs that most other machines use.

Basically pushing the knob down releases steam from the wand and will automatically stop as soon as you take your hand away (infact you can press the lever down with one finger it is so easy) and pushing the lever upwards will lock it in place allowing steam to flow from the wand until the user physically pushes it back down. This makes it so quick and efficient to use, and also helps cleaning and purging the steam wands out so easy.

The grinder which also comes with the sale is a on-demand La Cimbali Magnum. It is'on-demand' which means every shot that you do is ground fresh directly into your portafilter. The grinder is completely programmable to deliver the exact amount of coffee you want consistantly each and every time. The grounds/drip tray at the bottom of the grinder has a small notch which has been knocked out of it. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the using of the grinder at all, infact it is hardly noticeable because the grinder base and the tray are both black so they merge into each other.

I have included a icture of the missing notch on one of the pics (it is in the picture showing the grinder and the display lit up), again I just want to be honest and upfront so there is nothing you are unaware of. If you watch the YouTube video I have attached you will see how quick and easy it is to steam with these wands, and you will also get a better idea of how they work if I havent explained it very well above. There are two steam wands on this machine, one of which is longer than the other. The idea of this is to allow the barista to easily steam different size jugs of milk.

They are interchangable if you wish and simply screw on/off for changing over and cleaning etc. There is a hot water tap on the left hand side which is controlled via a button for the all important tea, hot chocolate etc. There is also a button on the right hand side which turns a cup tray heating element on and off.

To be honest I have always found that the heat from the boiler is sufficent to warm the cups stored on top of the machine, however it is here as an option if you want ti heat them quicker, or if they need drying after washing etc. The machine comes with 3 portafilters. Two of them are double spouted and one is single spouted. They are original Rancilio portafilters and not the cheap generic aftermarket ones so they really look great on the machine.

They are also nice and heavy and solid which is great for looking in heat to keep your extractions consistant. Coffee has become huge and is growing bigger and bigger every year, so to make sure you are getting the best from the machine and creating drinks properly is crucial to make sure you are competitive. The panels on this machine are in very good condition. There is small scratches and blemishes here and there but overall I would rate it is very good. The pictures speak for themselves and are a true reflection of the machines condition. I would love you to come and inspect the machine, have a play with it and make sure that it what you are looking for. You are welcome to view the machine anytime at my workshop which is located in between Leeds and Doncaster, postcode is DN14 0RX.

The machine will be wrapped properly and get to you safely. I use a very good courier who I have never had any issues with. The machine is of course open for you to collect youself, infact I would prefer this as it gives me an opportunity to demonstrate the machine to you and run through any questions you may have, however I fully appreciate this isnt always possible for people who are living at the other end of the country. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this listing, I hope I havent bored you too much.
