Built on the 14th of September 1973. How many modern commercial coffee machines will still be working in 45 years? There are manufacturers that make copies of this machine and I have owned a few, there is nothing comes close to the real thing. The colours in the crema are amazing, rich orangey red colours and the flavours from my normal beans are so much more defined.
There is no computers or fancy electronics, spares are readily available, this is a beautiful thing that is ready to make 100's of coffees per hour. The old lead safety system has been updated with a modern safety valve. The pressure control system has been modernized with a new pressure stat, a modern anti-vac valve has been added and a modern auto water fill system and the pump is new. The machine had a full restoration in 2008 and has had a front end service, new seals, baskets, etc and a thorough clean this week. I have had a few visitors in the last few days who have been amazed by this machine and in particular, the coffee that it can produce. It comes with two bottomless portafilters with 21g (triple baskets) in the hope that you will stop serving warm milky drinks like everyone else and give people a coffee to remember.
